Was Deputy to the Connecticut legislature for Windsor, Connecticut in 1659, 1660 and 1662. After moving to Killingworth (now Clinton), Connecticut, he served as Lieutenant in the Trainband and was Deputy for most of the period 1667-1674. In 1671 he was Commissioner for Killingworth.

Josiah Hull, Sr.* In October,1663, the committee appointed to form rules for the settlement of "Homonassett," (Killingworth.) It was determined that thirty families should settle on the east side of Hammonassett, at least. Committee were Samuel "Wyllys, Henry Wolcott and Wm.Wadsworth. Those who were entered as planters by the committee in 1663, and found on Killingworth town record, were Bryan Rossiter, Wm.Hayden, Edward Griswold,(from Windsor,) John Miegs, Sen., *John Skinner. Josias Hull, Simon Mills, Wm. Kelsey, *John Stedman, Wm. Wellman, (of N. L.,) *John Clow, Sen., *John Clow, Jun., "Josias Ellsworth, Samuel Buell, *Bobert Howard, Jonas Westover, Josiah Gilbert, Wm. He probably came from England with his parents in 1631-32 and settle at Dorchester, Massachusetts. He was married to Elizabeth Loomis at the Congregational Church, Windsor Connecticut.

Josias' death was recorded by Matthew Grant at Windsor, but occurred at Killingworth

A little Bio
Josiah Hull was eldest child of George Hull of Windsor. He was Deputy of the General Court 1659, 1660, and 1661. In 1662 he moved to Killingworth, Connecticut where he was Deputy 1667 to 1674. John Hull, their descendant, was first mint master of first mint established in Boston, Massachusetts, 10 June 1652. One Hull was a Judge of Probate Court. One killed by lightning. Some of the descendants of Elizabeth and Josiah Hull married into the following families: Kelsey, Buell, Peabody, Nettleton, Hurd, Grant, Griswold, Burnham, Stevens, Burr, Chittenden, Clark, Gaylor, Ward, Seward, etc.

A Kelsey and a Hull family moved to Wabaunsee, Kansas prior to the Civil War.
